Tower Bridge is one of London’s most famous attractions and no visit to the capital would be complete without a visit and a crossing. There is an exhibition open throughout the year informing of the history of this landmark and there is no greater thrill, particularly amongst children, than seeing the bridge open up and allow a boat to pass underneath. Thousands visit weekly hoping to see this spectacle and to enjoy the structure in all its beauty. However, with so many people visiting and many of them arriving at lunch time, it is important that there are sufficient eating establishments situated close to the bridge in order to ensure that they don’t have to visit on an empty stomach.

This is certainly the case with Tower Bridge, where there are over 100 restaurants and cafes within 1km. Whatever you want to eat, whether you want to sample some Greek delicacies or challenge friends with a spicy curry, the diverse nature of London cuisine and the sheer number of restaurants in the vicinity ensure that you will be able to find a place to satisfy your needs. If, on the other hand, you aren’t looking for a large meal then there are still many cafes that are certainly to be recommended for their ambiance, food and competitive pricing. With such snacks as jacket potatoes with an assortment of fillings and even the odd greasy bacon sandwich, there is something for everyone – allowing you to replenish your stomach and then return to your sightseeing.

Tower Bridge Hilton

I was recently lucky enough to have the pleasure of staying at the Tower bridge Hilton. It is a luxurious hotel and not something that I would normally be able to afford myself. However, my work was paying and I was surprised that they could afford such a lovely place but apparently they have some sort of deal with Hilton hotels and so they put all of their workers up in them. It was so good, because it was a much more luxurious hotel than I would ever normally stay in and there was no need for me to even have a hire car as I just got a taxi from the hotel and I am within easy walking distance from where I need to work. I am taking full advantage of the facilities that they have and really enjoying the meals. In fact it is probably the most relaxed business strip I have been on.

Partly because I am doing a course, which is fun and has no exam so there is no pressure, unlike other ones where I have either had exams or been working to strict deadlines. It is not nice being away for my family for the week, but I am just making the most of it and trying to enjoy myself as much as I can. I call them each night anyway and try not to think about them too much the rest of the time and just enjoy myself while I am here, as it is not long anyway.
