Are you vacationing in Tower Bridge and want to know the best way to get around seeing the sites? There are many ways to travel in order for you and your family to see everything you want to see. Now that you are at your destination you might want to think of how you are going to get from here to there. There are two main types of transportation that you have to decide on and here they are. You have to make the decision to go with either public transportation or driving yourself. Which one is more beneficial to your needs?

Public transportation includes vehicles like the bus or taxi cabs. This mode of transportation is great if you don’t plan on leaving the city limits. Leaving the city limits can get quite costly because you are paying for each mile. If all of the sites and things you want to do are in the city, it is better if you just use a taxi or ride a bus because in the long run, it will be cheaper for you.

Now on the other hand, if the attractions that you want to se at out of town, you might want to rent a car because it would be cheaper for you. You don’t want to take a taxi to an attraction that is 50 miles or more away because it will cost you more than a rental car. All you have to remember is be smart with your money when vacationing.

London Bridge: The Way Across the River

London Bridge is one of the most famous sites in all of London and to fully appreciate it as either a tourist or as a citizen, there’s a lot of to understand. London Bridge, or as it is also called, Tower Bridge, is located on the River Thames in order to connect the financial district of London with the Southwark district on the other side of the river. While taking the Underground is an alternative to driving or walking across the bridge to the other side, many people still need to take their cars into London’s financial district each and every day. And because the River Thames is still a vital part of trade done in England, the bridge must lift its road to let ships pass almost 3 times every single day. These numbers are obviously greatly reduced since many ships have found other ports of call in recent years, but for such an old bridge, it’s impressive.

In the next few years, London Bridge will be getting a makeover. Like all bridges, the amount of maintenance and upkeep to keep things running smoothly is phenomenal. The bridge will be getting repainted by the end of 2012 with the colors blue and white. Each section of the bridge will be done independently so that traffic isn’t disrupted as much. But, if you’re planning on visiting London anytime soon, you may want to see when the repairs will be taking place so you can avoid going to the bridge when it is covered in construction materials. Also, if you’re looking to see when the bridge’s road will be up to allow boats through, you can subscribe to its Twitter page. Yes, even London Bridge has a Twitter page.
